The Daily Press!

I few days ago I dropped by the Timmins Daily Press to see if they would be interested in writing a story about this world record breaking fundraiser. They were! If you came here after reading the paper, thank you for taking the time to look into this further.

This blog is the place for current information. Older posts go into a bit of detail on how this started and how it has progressed. Further down, you’ll find a post titled “You(th) Can!” by Brad Saunder’s, World Vision’s Southwestern Ontario representative. His support has been critical in making this possible.

To the right of this post and just above the count-down timer there’s a link to this event’s online donation page. Right now the total is at 1,080 dollars with the goal being 10,000 dollars. Donations are tax deductible.

For business owners, this is a great opportunity to advertise while supporting a good cause. Your business’s banner could be displayed here on the blog as well as on a tv screen during the actual record attempt. Timmins Furniture was the first local business to donate, hopefully the first of many others.  Also, the Toronto Maple Leafs have agreed to donate merchandise to be auctioned off.

Absolutely every donation counts. By working together as a community we can make a true, meaningful difference in the lives of these impoverished children. Let’s help World Vision to offer comfort, shelter, protection, and hope to those who are helpless.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to comment here on the blog or email me at jesse@jessefontaine.ca. I would love to hear from you.

Thank you for reading.
